BELOVEZHSKAYA PUSHCHA

The National Park Belovezhskaya Pushcha is the only natural forest in Europe. This area is being preserved in its original form with its inherent flora and fauna since retreat of the last glacier. The history of this pristine corner of nature has been like that for millennia; and today it is protected by UNESCO.

Senior generation remembers the song about the fabulous beauty of Belovezhskaya Pushcha, about the enchanting singing of birds. Among the rare species of birds, you can find the black stork, the bearded owl and the white-tail eagle.

The dense forests have become a safe haven for the powerful and at the same time defenseless bison. We have the largest population of bison In Europe. There are boars, wolves, foxes, lynxes, and martens in the park. Also, there are 24 species of fish in the rivers Nerevka, Nareva and Lesnaya.
